- Pick a difficulty. Easy gives you a 3x3 grid with 3 people and 2 categories of 3 items each. Medium is 4x4, and Hard is 5x5. Larger grids have more clues and require more steps.
- Read the clues. Each clue tells you something about which person has which item. Some clues directly say "Alex has a dog." Others are indirect, like "The person with a cat likes blue."
- Mark the grid. Click a cell to cycle through three states: empty, X (this combination is not possible), and O (this is a confirmed match). Use X marks to eliminate wrong answers, then place O when only one option remains.
- Use deduction. When a row or column in any section has only one empty cell left, that must be the answer. The grid highlights cells that can be auto-filled.
- Check your answer. When all O marks match the solution, you will see a "Solved!" message. If something is wrong, review the clues and look for missed eliminations.
- Print it out. Use "Print Puzzle" for a blank worksheet with clues and grid. Use "Print with Solution" to include the answer key.
